Spinning is an ancient method of making thread. The fibers are pulled out and twisted around themselves, either to the left or to the right. The degree of twisting, combined with the thickness of the fibers, determines how strong the thread becomes.
A spinning wheel is a tool for spinning. Spinning means twisting the fibers into yarn and thread that can be used for weaving or knitting. Back in the 16th century, making clothes was time-consuming and labor-intensive, but when spinning coils came into use in Europe, it facilitated work considerably.
We currently do not have a spinning course or "SpindeCafé" at Lystbækgaard.
The video here is recorded for Green Autumn Market in 2018
The spinners have fun, talk, spin and enjoy hot homemade soup 😋
