RURAL SKILLS NETWORK MEETING
Rural skills network meeting program: Tuesday 20th to Monday 26th March 2018
(Highlighted workshops / events open to the public)
There is quite a full program and so it is not obligatory to join all workshops, feel free to take time off in between!
Tuesday 20th March
5 pm - Arrivals from Lithuania and Iceland
7pm - Evening welcome dinner + farm walk.
Wednesday 21st March
9 - 12 am - Short 10 min presentations with pictures from each participant from each country. Common aims of individuals and organizations. Goals/wishes for the week, useful/expected outcomes.
2 - 5 pm - Practical Workshop: Felting and VegetarPelswith Lystbækgårdsvandrendefårehyrde "Geeke Jonker"
Thursday 22nd March
9 - 12 am - Practical Workshop: Shelter Building at Lystbaekhus. Bonfire and maintenance. Developing Refugium and B & B. (Continues all day for those interested and not involved in NORD + )
2 pm - Cafe Open - Sheepdog demonstrations.
3 - 6pm - Practical Workshop: Dogmestrik, from raw wool to knit, inc. coffee and cake
7 pm - Talk and Discussion: Rural Economies, Entrepreneurial Skills & Social Economic projects, with VestjyllandsHojeskole. How is it possible to survive and generate income as young adults in rural places. Cottage Industries.
Friday 23rd March
9 - 12 am - Practical Workshop: Bread & Cheese. Fermentation - Preserved products, Keffir, Kombucha, etc. Production from 'JordtilBord' Farm to Fork. Produce from Nature. What can we find now? Birch Juice from trees etc. Teachingyoungadultsnaturalcooking.
2 - 5 pm - Afternoon with the Shepherd: Rural Seasons / Real Life at Lystbaek. Simple Living. 'Join In' Experience Tourism. High Nature Value Farming with Wandering Shepherd.
7 pm - IcelandskSpiseaften- Icelandic Dinner and Culture with song, talks and ideas cafe (for local audience)
Saturday 24th March
9 - 12 am - Practical Workshop: Horn & bone
2 - 4 pm - Produce - Storytelling - Labeling - Pricing
5 - 7 pm - Sharing Best Practices - Collect and upload digitally learning skills
Sunday 25th March - Easter Market - Bring your own products to sell and present on a stall. We will put together a presentation of photographs from the week.
